Federal Skilled Worker
Skilled workers are professionals who have education, work experience, knowledge of English or French, and other abilities that will help them to establish themselves successfully in Canada.
There are three prerequisites and six selection factors for skilled workers. Points are awarded for each factor and applicants must attain at least 67 points in order to qualify for a Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa.pre requisites:
You have at least one continous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment. You must have had this experience within the last 10 years.
Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations), or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) List
You have enough money to support yourselves and your dependants as you settle in Canada. This is known as Settlement Funds.

To be considered under the Federal Skilled Worker category, applicants must score a minimum of 67 out of the possible 100 points.

How to apply
There are two application processes for skilled worker applicants to Canada:
- The simplified application process and
- The regular application process.
Most applicants must use the simplified process. However, you must use the regular process if:
- you are a provincial nominee
- you have been selected by Quebec
- you are eligible for points for arranged employment
- you have been lawfully admitted to Canada for a period of at least one year and you are submitting your application at the Canadian visa office in Buffalo or
- you have been lawfully admitted into the United States for a period of at least one year and you are submitting your application at the Canadian visa office in Buffalo.
If none of the situations described above applies to you, you must use the simplified application process.

If an applicant does not qualify for Canadian Immigration under this class, we will advise the applicant on why he/she can’t apply at this stage. We may advise of what to work towards and achieve in order to qualify sometime in future.
