CIC Application Processing Times
Federal Investor
The Immigrant Investor Program seeks to attract experienced business people to invest C$400,000 into Canada’s economy. Investors must:
- show that they have business experience
- have a minimum net worth of C$800,000 that was obtained legally and
- make a C$400,000 investment.
Your investment is managed by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and is guaranteed by the Canadian provinces.
CIC will return your C$400,000 investment, without interest, about five years and three months after payment.
Those who wish to partake in the investor immigration program may live anywhere in Canada. Hence their place of residence is not determined by the location of their investment.

How to apply
There are two application processes for immigrant investors who want to apply to become permanent residents:
- the simplified application process and
- the regular application process.
Most applicants must use the simplified process. However, you must use the regular process if:
- you have been selected by Quebec or
- you have been lawfully admitted to Canada for a period of at least one year and you are submitting your application at the Canadian visa office in Buffalo or
- you have been lawfully admitted into the United States for a period of at least one year and you are submitting your application at the Canadian visa office in Buffalo.
If none of the situations described above applies to you, you must use the simplified application process
How we can help
We assess your case from the info provided to us by you through our free assessment forms or otherwise. The experienced staff at Gate Seven will provide you with a quick and accurate assessment of your qualifications under the present regulations and criteria of the Federal Investor Class category. We then advise you whether you qualify or not. If qualified, we proceed to sign up a contract with you and follow all the procedures outlined in our G7 Consultant`s Professional Role Chart.
One of the areas where we excel is business and investor programmes. Our financial advisors / associates will help you invest in this program wisely. For individuals not interested in investing all of $400k at a time, we have financial institutions that can support your investment by investing $275k on your behalf. You invest $125k and balance is invested by the bank. We can arrange to have these banks support the funding. If an applicant does not qualify for Canadian Immigration under this class, we will advise the applicant on why he/she can’t apply at this stage. We may advise of what to work towards and achieve in order to qualify sometime in future.
